Let There Be Light

Shine bright

Designing interiors to take maximum advantage of natural light.

With spring comes SUNLIGHT. We love this time of year, and how the return of light shows up in our interiors.

As the days get longer, sunlight dances on the floors of certain rooms. Streaming light influences how we move through our homes. The return of natural light is not just seasonal, for many of us it is an emotional seasonal shift. Simply put — sunlight makes us feel happy, and brings much needed brightness to our favorite rooms.

Natural light works wonders for interiors. Wood grains feel warmer. Stone surfaces seem to almost glow. Colors appear more dimensional. It’s as if your interiors are finally awake. This is the moment to really pause and pay attention to how light travels through your home.

If you are a sunlight lover like most, you are opening the shades, letting in the light and feeling hopeful, happy and excited about the days to come.

When your interiors are designed to embrace natural light, your interiors seem more connected to the world outside.

We love maximizing views, sun exposure and natural light whenever possible. These elements are incorporated into our designs from the start. Perhaps that means seating is arranged to take in the view, or perhaps motorized window treatments are needed. Sunlight will always influence fabric choices and finishes. Exposure to natural light will also influence where we place artwork and heirlooms.

Designed well, your home becomes a place that responds beautifully to sunshine and embraces the light rather than resisting it.

This season, let sunshine and the brilliant light outside illuminate your interiors and your mood.
