The cold weather is lifting, we’re starting to trade our winter boots for sandals, and we can almost taste the freshly cut watermelon at a summer barbecue with friends.
Are you ready to usher in the warm weather? I know I am. I also know that as the seasons change, I tend to change my interior, as well. Switching it up can be a really good thing. It’s so fun to come home after a day of work to a fresh space that feels in tune with the season surrounding it.
New throw pillows? New throw blankets? Maybe a change of dish ware to something a little more lively? Yes, yes, and YES. But today, I’m going to be sharing some inspiring artwork that reminds me of the lovely months between April and September.
Here are some of my favorite modern artwork finds to liven up your space:
Papier-Mache Wall Art from West Elm
Bright and clean. Textural. This geometric artwork is perfectly on trend and so fresh. It would go with virtually any color palette and it provides a very interesting focal point for your space. I picture this in a downtown, bachelor pad loft.
The Mermaid by Judith van den Hoek on iCanvas.com
This piece feels very stark and simple to me while still being feminine. It could go seamlessly in multiple spaces: a single family home, a female executive’s office, a single guy’s dining room… This art is the perfect example of less is more.
Hush by Vinn Wong on iCanvas.com
This abstract piece would fit perfectly with a black, white, and gray color palette. It would add the perfect punch of color. I picture this in the contemporary living room of a single family home. It provides just enough visual interest without being over powering.
Deep Water Current – Glass Coat at Z Gallerie
I love the color variation in this piece – different shades of blue against a white background. The glass coating also makes it really shiny and reflective. This art work would easily brighten up any space. It’s incredibly versatile and I could picture it pretty much anywhere, though I would love to see it in a fairly monotone space. Maybe white walls and a white sofa with this centered above…
WHITE HORSE FRAMED PRINT BY JENNIFER MEYERS at Pottery Barn
What exemplifies freedom (the summer months) better than an unbridled horse? I love the simplicity and depth of this photo. It’s another piece so versatile it could fit virtually anywhere. I would love to see this in a modern master suite on a feature wall.
As coffee is to cream, so is artwork to your space – an essential pairing. I hope you enjoyed viewing the pieces above as much as I enjoyed finding them for you.
What do you think? Do you like this modern artwork? I would love to hear from you!
