Commode

Commode:

(And not the one in the bathroom…) A commode is cupboard that is traditionally used for storing chamber pots.  It is often used as a side table or nightstand.

According to Wikipedia, the commode became such a necessary commodity in eighteenth century France that cabinet makers took to using the finest woods and materials to build them.  They even went as far as to decoratively carve them in the traditional French provincial style.
